I have an 04 Silverado 2500 wt (work truck) 4x4 . Has 6.0 liter gas, automatic trans. Got rubber floor mats A/C cruise control. Got a flatbed on it with BW flip over 5th wheel ball and it's perfect for me. Bought it new and now has 197000 trouble free miles other than motor mounts and tie rod ends.

Dont buy a new diesel for a farm truck. The new diesels need to be ran on the highway constantly for the regens. Get an older diesel if you want it for a farm truck.

I have a 2012 Silverado 4x4 WT (work truck). Manual transfer case, power locks and windows, not much else. It was well-under $40K new and it’s been paid off for years. It pulls trailers, hauls lumber, carts around lawn care gear, and gets me to and from work daily. Pretty much as close to a “farm truck” as one can get nowadays.

The ram truck around the Cummins is exactly correct. Chevrolet durajunks are terrible. The 11-19 6.7 is pretty good there are enough of them on the road that there is massive after market support for problems. I have a 17 bought with 76k on it and I’ve spent 5k in upgrades and I’m still 50k less than a new truck. And it’s never left me stranded.

Whats wrong with getting a used 90s or 00s pickups? More creature comforts, less electronics, and body parts arent too hard to find in junk yards. Seems like a good middle ground to me

I got a buddy who had to buy land under some corporation name (LLC I think) using a lawyer as a buffer, because the people who were selling didn't like his grandfather (who had been dead 30 years at the time) and blacklisted the whole family. My buddy bought the land (quite the chunk) and began farming it, the original owner flipped out when he found out because he'd been sitting on that land to keep my buddies family from uniting two other pieces of land they'd been farming since the 1920's.

I hate all the electronics, I want a basic truck with windows I can roll up and down, heat and AC, and a basic radio. All the other gizmos just have electronic chips that keep breaking. Old school trucks are the way to go...plus you can change your own spark plugs lol.

Look at a Dodge truck, older than 10 years old and the rear quarter panels will be rusted out or on their way to be rusted out.
